- The Ashinaga Scholarship Association will award special one-time scholarships (that do not need to be paid back) to children whose caregivers have either died or gone missing, or children who have suffered a significant injury. Pre-school children – \100,000, Elementary and middle school students - \200,000, High school students - \300,000, University/junior college/technical school/miscellaneous school/graduate school students - \400,000.
Scholarship from the Association for Orphans of Automobile Accidents
- The Association will award scholarships (no-interest loans) to children whose caregivers died due to being out driving during the earthquake and got into a fatal accident or were struck by the tsunami. This scholarship is also available to children whose caregivers were gravely injured by the disaster. Students who are not able to receive a Certificate of Traffic Accident may still apply. The Association may also give out scholarships to children whose caregivers were driving during the quake and are now missing, depending on the circumstances.
