Experience a Traditional Japanese New Year!
The 3rd Year In, Year Out, Let's Share the Japanese New Year Experience with our friends all over the world Event

Would you like to experience a real Japanese New Year's holiday with friends from all over the world!?
Before the year ends, we will try some recreational games as well as work together to make futomaki sushi rolls and paint faces on daruma dolls.
On the 31st, we will try “Toshikoshi Soba (Year-Crossing Soba)” a must for anyone enjoying a Japanese New Year's Eve holiday, and then everyone will gather to count down to the new year.
On the first day of the new year, we will go on a “New Year's Walking Tour in Tokyo” which will include a traditional visit to a Shinto shrine to celebrate.
Through this fun event you will be able to rediscover the charms of Japan and celebrate the New Year's holiday with friends from all over the world!!

◇Dates: December 31, 2012 (Sun) ~ January 2, 2013 (Wed)
◇Requirements: 

You must be able to attend all events on the schedule (including overnight stays).
【Foreign Participants】
You must have a legal status of residence for Japan (i.e, a visa), you must be able to speak conversational Japanese, and you must be a student attending university, junior college, graduate school, vocational school, or Japanese language school (a type of miscellaneous school). ALTs may also attend.
【Japanese Participants】
You must have Japanese citizenship, and you must be a student attending university, junior college, graduate school, vocational school, miscellaneous school, or junior/senior high school.

◇Participation Limit: 
400 people

◇Application Period: 
October 24, 2012 (Wed)~November 30 (Fri)
If we have not reached 400 people, applications will be open until December 6 (Thu).
◇Selection of Participants: 
The first 300 applicants are selected in order of arrival, and applicants 301 and up will be selected by lottery.

5,000 yen (Includes accommodations, meals, and
activities fee)
However, lunch on January 1st will be the responsibility of the participant (refer to the schedule).

【Notes】
●Things to bring with you: Your school ID, and your alien registration card/residence card/driver's license.
●You may not attend if you did not apply in advance.
●As a rule, it is not permitted for someone to join or leave in the middle of the event (everything must be done as a group activity).
●The entire program will be done in Japanese.
