1．General Facts | |||
As our population of foreign residents in Iwate continues to diversify, we need to think about how to become global citizens, and realize our connection to the world through various viewpoints. We need to hold the view that multicultural society is made up of people from many different countries and backgrounds, who live in harmony as creators of a regional society. This year especially, we have received support from all over the world after the March 11 Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami, and realized the value in a form of international exchange we had never dreamed of. With that in mind, as we once more realize the value and importance of international exchange, we will hold the One World Festa with a theme of international connections created due to the disaster along with the feelings of gratitude we want to convey to the world for their sympathy and kindness. | |||
2．Theme and Catchphrase | |||
As we receive support and encouragement from around the world due to the earthquake, the bonds with foreigners in Iwate grow ever stronger, and we have once again realized the importance of international exchange. Our catchphrase for One World Festa this year is “Our Connection to the World - Thank You from Iwate.” This will be linked to the promotion of international exchange as we convey our gratitude to the world for the connection that has always been there, and for the new connections and warm sympathy and kindness that we have received. | |||
